7Med Aura

What is Aura?

7Med Aura is a modern, web-based platform that gives next of kin controlled, real-time access to their loved one’s inpatient journey. Designed specifically for acute NHS trusts, Aura reduces pressure on ward staff by eliminating the need for constant update calls while dramatically improving the experience for families during stressful times.

Aura is integrated with PAS, EPR, and diagnostic systems to create a consolidated, live view of a patient’s clinical activity—from admissions to test results—through a consent-based access system.

Key Functional Modules

  • Live inpatient activity timeline (admissions, ward transfers, emergencies, discharges)
  • Real-time view of:
    • Ward name & description
    • Status change history
    • Assigned clinicians (attending & consulting)

  • Time-series graph plotting NEWS values
  • Visual thresholds to highlight escalation trends

Benefits:

  • Family members better understand condition progression
  • Supports patient safety messaging and escalation transparency

Includes:

  • Order type (e.g., Radiology, Pathology, Microbiology)
  • Test description
  • Abnormal flags (yes/no)
  • Speciality & test status
  • Order status code mapping (e.g. P = Pending, C = Completed, etc.)

Benefits:

  • Fully traceable journey from order → result
  • Easy for relatives to understand test status without medical jargon
  • Abnormal flags create red-flag alerts for review

Orders & Results Timeline

End-to-End Visibility into Diagnostic Testing and Outcomes

The Orders & Results Timeline in Aura provides real-time insight into all diagnostic activities during a patient’s stay. It allows both family members and clinicians to track what tests have been ordered, when they were conducted, and what the results were – all shown in a clear, chronological timeline.

Whether it’s a routine blood test, a radiology scan, or a specialist pathology panel, every detail is documented and made easily accessible.

What Users See:

  • Test Type – e.g., Pathology, Radiology
  • Test Name – e.g., “Full Blood Count”, “Liver Function Test”
  • Speciality – e.g., Haematology, Radiology
  • Order Status – e.g., Pending, Completed, Cancelled
  • Abnormalities Found – Yes / No
  • Date & Time – When the test was conducted

Example Display:

  • Liver Function Test – Completed (Abnormalities Found: Yes)

Each diagnostic record expands to show additional context, including the location, who ordered it, timestamps, and whether any abnormalities were flagged.
